Just a little closer to Him,
     Just to know that He is near,
Just to feel His blessed presence
     All the time, and everywhere.

Still a little closer to Him;
     How I love to hear Him say,
"I'll not leave thee nor forsake thee
     Anywhere along the way."

Yes, a little closer to Him;
     That's the only place to hide.
What a Refuge! What a Fortress!
     What a Saviour! What a Guide!
Yet a little closer to Him;
     Not content nor satisfied
Till I have the blest assurance
     That His words in me abide.

Seven things, if closer to Him,
     You may have within your heart:
Hope and Love, Joy, Peace, and Gladness,
     Strength and Power He'll impart.

Oh, if you would get close to Him,
     Let your sins in Him be hid,
Then you'd wonder why you didn't
     Do it long before you did.
        "I beseech you therefore, brethren,
by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice,
holy,
acceptable unto God,
which is your reasonable service.
       And be not conformed to this world:
but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind,
that ye may prove what is that good,
and acceptable,
and perfect, will of God." Romans 12: 1, 2
