We have many definite pronunciatons against the Second Coming of Christ. But to those who even as much as read the Scriptures, all these pronunciations make them believe in the Second Coming more. That is exactly what the Lord told us would come. "Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils"I Timothy 4:1. Others shall say, "Where is the promise of his coming?"II Peter 3:4. "In the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves .... lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away"II Timothy 3:1-5". When people try to modernize and theorize these Scripures, and love form more than they love the Spirit and power of the Lord, then the Lord tells us to turn away from them, and let them go in their own way. We need a great era of separation. The sssooner we have it the soner we will have an era of earts experiencing regeneration. However, being prepared for the return of the Lord is the most important thing. God does not command us to argue this or anything else. He doesn't till us to try to force it upon people. He merely commands us to preach it and then "Watch ye, therefore, for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come." As you read these lines, I am sure the Holy Spirit will point it out to you if you are ready to meet Him, prepard to go; or if you would be ashamed at His appearing. He is coming again some time, and it surely may be soon. We don't know. We don't have to know, but we do need to know if we are fully prepared for that meeting in the air. If you are not prepared, there is but one thing to do: "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness"I John 1:9 |
