The jealous leaders associated with Daniel wanted to find some fault with him so they could accuse him before the king, thus getting Daniel out of favor with the king. They came together and talked it all over, and finally came to the conclusion that there was absolutely no fault they could find with Daniel except the fact that he had a real testimony for the Lord God. Isn't it terrible that so many Christans have so many faults? Two men stood one day, in conversation. Two other men walked by. As they did, one of the men in conversation said to the other. "There go two men, and you know, Mr. Blank is a fine gentleman, but he is not a Christian. Mr. Other Blank is a Christian, but he is not a gentleman." Many times, when inquiring about certain people, I get answers similar to the following: – "Yes, he's a saved man, but he certainly does feel his importance around here. He thinks he's the whole cheese." – "Yes, she took her stand last year during the revival, but I believe another dose would do her a little good." – "Well, he is a pretty good church member, and is usually here, but you know, he is never caught at prayer meeting. He won't pray in public, and sometimes I doubt that he does any too much praying in secret." – "I wouldn't say one word contrary to her conversion, but, boy, I'll tell you she surely didn't forget how to use her tongue. Some people's tongues are tied at one end and loose at the other, but hers seems to be pinioned in the middle and loose at both ends. Some times I wonder if the pinion is not a little bit warped." None of those things could have been said about Daniel. The people knew that Daniel was "true-blue" to the Lord, and that they could catch him praying the next afternoon. Someone has said that it may not be a sin to have a fault, but that it is certainly a sin to keep one. The Lord's grace is sufficient for our daily living.
