DANIEL IN DEN ––
Exodus 23:24 |
|
IIt would have been better to have been Daniel in the Lion's den than it would to have been the king on the throne, or any of the other presidents or rulers. Usually the one cast into the lion's den was the only one in trouble, but not so with Daniel. This time he was about the only one who was not in trouble. While Daniel was sleeping, probably on the neck of a lion, the king was not faring so nicely. The Bible says that his sleep went from him. It was no night of music for the king, though angels might have been playing to Daniel on their harps of gold. The Bible does not say that Daniel was even hungry, but it says that the king fasted all night long. He couldn't eat because of fear. The next morning Daniel was taken safely from the lion's den. The very next ones to be thrown into the den were the same fellows who had persuaded the king to sign a decree that later caused Daniel to be thrown therein.
Daniel knew God and God knew Daniel. God knew the others, but the others did not know God. |
