| The seventh chapter of Joshua gives us a description of a tragic battle of Joshua's army. His army had taken Jericho, and was trying to capture Ai, but instead of getting what they thought to be easy victory, they quickly met defeat. Joshua couldn't understand it, so he went directly to the Lord to find out what was the trouble. The Lord is the best one to go to, because He knows what the trouble is, and He is always willing to point it out to us. The Lord said to Joshua, "There is sin in the camp." It was the sin in the camp that brought defeat to the entire army and kept the Lord from giving them victory. God cannot and will not bless when there is sin in the camp, in the church, in the home, or in the individual life. If we will let Him, God will pardon, forgive, and remove the sin or sins. Then He will give the victory and send the blessings. |
