So often we think about our weaknesses a good bit more than we do the strength that is in the grace of the Lord. None of us are able, alone, to fly through the air, above the clouds, but none of us ever try it alone. If we want to fly we board a plane, or else we reach our destination by some other method. None of us are foolish enough to try it in our own strength. Too, it is certainly useless to try to live the life of victory apart from Him who gives the victory. When we do we stumble and fall, the quicker we realize that fact, the more we will depend upon the Lord for the grace and help we need. Determination is a wonderful thing, and you don't find people being used by the Lord unless they have a little of it. However, determination is far from being all that there is to overcoming. It is "not by might nor by power." Determination alone will fail, but determination mixed with consecration cannot fail. When you only say "I will," the probability is that you will not, but when you say "I will by His grace," then no doubt you will. The world is filled with failures, but it is not the fault of the Lord. We are to blame for all the failures in our lives, because the Lord says that His strength is made perfect in weakness. Do you believe Him? Don't travel alone. Let Him, who is able, be your constant companion.
