Behold the Lamb of God

#1	BEHOLD THE LAMB OF GOD "Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world" John 1:29

   The lamb used for the Old Testament sacrifice was to be without blemish. What a true type it was of Jesus Christ the Son of God!
   And to the Jews, John the Baptist called Jesus THE Lamb of God,
not A lamb, or SOME lamb, but THE LAMB.
The Lord Jesus Christ was certainly without blemish and without spot.
   The Bible tells us that He knew no sin (II Cor. 5:21),
He did no sin (I Peter 2:22),
and
He had no sin (I John 3:5).    In order for Jesus Christ to be able to be the spotless Lamb of God, He would have to be the sinless Son of God, otherwise He would have to die His own death and pay His own debt; but

Jesus had no death to die -----
He'd never lived in sin.
He died the death that you and I
Through faith might enter in.

Jesus had no debt to pay -----
He paid the price for me,
And washed my every sin away:
Thank God He set me free!
