#2"But God"
But God raised him from the dead." Acts 13:29-30 |
| WHILE working on this book, when I finished reading the context containing the above Scripture verse, I just had to say to myself, "Thank you, Lord God; Amen, Alleluia." I was so thankful for the blessed assurance that Jesus, the One Whom they crucified, was raised from the dead, that He is living today, and that He is my very Lord and Saviour. Surely the Bible is right when it says, "He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. He came unto his own, and his own received him not."
The world, primarily the Jews, did everything in their power to Jesus. They fulfilled every promise or prophecy concerning Him. Then, when all was fulfilled, they took Him down from the tree, and laid Him in a sepulchre, but that was as far as they could go. They put Him in a grave but they couldn't keep Him there, because "God raised him from the dead." The grave could not hold the Lord of glory, because the same prophecy which told us that Jesus would be crucified and slain, also told us that the Holy One could not see corruption. Therefore God raised Him up. Yes, "Low in the grave He lay," but He was "Waiting the break of day." |
